Unleashing comprehensive, new brand design in the panhandle for Kimball County Transit Services (KCTS) in Kimball, Nebraska was an involved process of strategy, design, and implementation that continues to unfold as the transit organization grows alongside new transit and economic activity. The agency implemented a new intercity route providing airport service covering over 200 miles to Denver International Airport and Western Nebraska Regional Airport as well as additional regional routes to give greater access to cities, towns, and other rural activity centers.
The agency was looking to retain the current transit agency brand recognition in a simpler and bolder fashion that would attract new riders including residents, newcomers, and visitors. The designs were also to highlight the fact that they serve a wide-area that has major connections in all four directions from its headquarters in Kimball, NE.
Clean and legible type that is easily read while moving at a distance was key. A secondary goal was to highlight the area for tourism and relocation. From vehicles to brochures, social media and e-newsletters, to display ads and business cards, all items were branded to make clear connections and improve communication.
